This is one of many reasons that rib cartilage microtia repair is superior to using a pre-fabricated medpor ear .The symmetry of the reconstruction is what differentiates a good reconstruction from a great reconstruction. The symmetry can best be appreciated by comparing side-by-side images of the 2 ears before surgery (top photo) and of the 2 ears after surgery (bottom photo).
